A frame building was erected on East Greenville Street, across from the present elementary school. When the present church was built in 1893, the frame church became a mission for blacks. The 1893 church is in use today, and C.M. Guest was architect with Jim Moore as head carpenter and supervisor. The Rev. Dr. John B. Adger preached the last sermon in the old church May 21 and the first sermon in the new church May 28, 1893. The millwork, inside ceiling and grape carving around the windows dividing the Sunday School rooms and the auditorium, came from Augusta, and the pews were made in Greenville. The oldest congregation in Pendleton, the Presbyterians also have the oldest church building still in use. Located at corner of Broad and Mechanic Streets.
